A market that never closes

Unlike stock exchanges, the crypto market does not shut: it runs all week, weekends and holidays included. That means a price can move sharply while you sleep, with no opening or closing bell to pause it. It also makes day to day performance harder to compare against other assets.

Market cap, not price

The price of one unit tells you nothing about a coin's size on its own. A coin at one dollar with a billion units is larger than a coin at a thousand dollars with a thousand units. The number that actually compares size is market capitalisation, the price multiplied by units in circulation. The table is ranked by that, not by price.

A warning worth stating

Crypto is a highly volatile asset, and drops of 20% or 30% within days have happened more than once. The figures here are for tracking and information only, and are not advice to buy or sell. If you are considering this market, commit only what you could afford to lose entirely.
