Price of a kilo of silver today in Egypt, 8 October 2026

Silver continues to draw interest in Egypt as a savings and investment option alongside gold, particularly for buyers who want a precious metal at a reachable price.
Fine silver (999) was quoted at about 81.31 pounds a gram today, with sterling silver (925) near 75.21 pounds. An ounce came in around 2,529 pounds.
In larger units, 100 grams of fine silver works out at roughly 8,131 pounds, and a full kilogram at about 81,310 pounds — the weights favoured by anyone treating silver as a long-term store of value.
One figure investors watch is the gold-to-silver ratio, currently around 85. It says an ounce of gold is worth roughly 85 ounces of silver, and some use it to judge which of the two looks better value.
Silver also carries real industrial demand, in electronics, solar panels and electric vehicles. That demand supports it over the long term alongside its role as a store of value.
It is worth separating investment silver from jewellery. The first comes as bars and coins with a modest premium; the second carries a higher making charge that is lost on resale, exactly as with gold.
Holding both gold and silver remains a common approach, combining gold's relative steadiness with silver's higher growth potential and higher volatility.
