Today's silver price table in Egypt, 15 September 2026

2 min read
Silver continues to draw interest in Egypt as a savings and investment option alongside gold, particularly for buyers who want a precious metal at a reachable price. Fine silver (999) was quoted at about 83.42 pounds a gram today, with sterling silver (925) near 77.16 pounds. An ounce came in around 2,595 pounds. In larger units, 100 grams of fine silver works out at roughly 8,342 pounds, and a full kilogram at about 83,417 pounds — the weights favoured by anyone treating silver as a long-term store of value. One figure investors watch is the gold-to-silver ratio, currently around 85. It says an ounce of gold is worth roughly 85 ounces of silver, and some use it to judge which of the two looks better value. Some savers move toward silver when the gold-to-silver ratio is high, on the view that it is below fair value at that point. It is a common reading, though not a guaranteed rule. Silver trades globally by the ounce, as gold does, and an ounce is 31.1 grams. The local gram price follows from it once the exchange rate and the dealer's margin are applied. It is worth separating investment silver from jewellery. The first comes as bars and coins with a modest premium; the second carries a higher making charge that is lost on resale, exactly as with gold.
